Bio

S. Lakmé Iyengar is an award-winning Australian/Indian cinematographer based in Los Angeles, working in both live action and stop motion. She holds an MFA in Cinematography from AFI, and has lensed narrative projects that have screened at festivals including Los Angeles International Film Festival, AFI Fest and Toronto International Women’s Film Festival. Lakmé was a cinematography fellow as part Film Independent’s Project Involve, and her short from the program, Saving All My Love, has screened at festivals including BronzeLens Film Festival, Lady Filmmakers Festival and Micheaux Film Festival. Her stop motion credits include work for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Batman. Lakmé was also a mentee as part of the ASC Vision Mentorship program, and is passionate about exploring stories that focus on minority experiences. She was the recipient of the 2024 Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Women in Media Altitude Awards.
